Parquet and underfloor heating

Heating cost savings • Comfortable warmth

The right wooden floor, fully glued to the subfloor, not only means economical heating and warm feet in winter, but also no cold feet in the transitional period when the heating is not in use. Wood is a thermal semiconductor and, if installed at the right height, allows the heat from the underfloor heating to pass through relatively well. However, in contrast to stone, it feels relatively warm at the same temperature.

Heating efficiency

If you choose the right parquet floor, the movement of the wood and therefore the formation of gaps in winter will be greatly reduced. If you choose the right thickness of wood and use full-surface bonding, the heat can penetrate through the wood relatively easily, which contributes to the effectiveness of the underfloor heating.

Wood and parquet selection • Carpet out/Parquet in

If a wood that moves relatively little and has a long moisture change time is used, an optimal floor structure with underfloor heating can be achieved, for example, even with parquet that looks like planks. Even in old buildings, it is possible to subsequently replace carpet with parquet with underfloor heating. (see the chapter Parquet versus Carpet)
